The Portuguese competitor dominated the master category with wins at medium heavyweight and in the absolute. Other famous names to stick their necks out in the fighting areas in the master division this Sunday were Roberto Godoi (Godoi JJ), who won the heavyweight; Omar Salum (GH), who took the featherweight; Adriano Silva (Barbosa) defeated Regis Lebre (GH) to take the middleweight. At Senior 1, more emotion and names carrying weight. Instructor Muzio de Angelis (Brasa) defeated Carlos Vicente (GH) and took heavyweight gold. After the fight, Muzio turned in his black belt and retired from competition. At absolute, Danilo Rodacki (Behring) took gold after beatinig Luciano Nucci (Alliance). Also to shine with gold dangling from the neck: Alexandre “Gigi” Paiva (Alliance) at senior 2; super tough Helveccio Netto (De La Riva) at senior 3; Mauricio Robbe at senior 5.
